About

Ale Ruiz Tostado is a multidisciplinary, self-taught artist born and raised in the South Bay/Border region of San Diego. Her work pulls from childhood nostalgia, memory and the multifaceted experience of growing up Mexican-American and later self-proclaiming Chicana as part of her identity. Her practice also encapsulates the importance of self-worth and love, becoming a form of healing from the inward hurt.
